Rural Community Development Resources

Yakima, WA

Rural Community Development Resources' (RCDR) mission is to empower new and emerging entrepreneurs to efficiently & effectively operate their businesses for longer term sustainability.

The Rural Community Development Resources (RCDR) is a 501(c)(3) private non-profit community development corporation that has been designated as a Certified Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of Treasury.

One of the critical components of the program are the business educational seminars that are provided as a condition of loan approval. Partnerships with Washington State Departments of Labor & Industries and Employment Security, and the Dept of Treasury Internal Revenue Service (IRS) allow specialists from each department to provide quarterly tax seminars for limited English speaking entrepreneurs and start up businesses. These seminars are well attended and connect the departments to new and emerging enterprises to establish more positive pro active relationship. Once an entrepreneur obtains a loan, the borrower becomes part of the business network and receives on-going support during the term of the loan.
