This training was customized for CPLC/NALCAB NSP2 Consortium members. Midway through this multi-million dollar grant, key sessions offered the latest news and updates on this federally funded neighborhood stabilization effort. Training topics included management methods developed to help sustain financial and management compliance, identifying and engaging local, state and federal stakeholders, achieving your local market objectives and developing value and profile for your
housing projects.

Leaders of our NSP2 organizations (approximately 62) participated alongside U.S. Department of Housing and Urband Development (HUD) officials and guests. A few key highlights are listed below:

Mi Casa Project Tour – The tour provided a great opportunity for our member to see the NSP2 work and hear about the challenges that have been overcome by one of their peer agencies.  The event also provided a relaxed and festive environment that enabled partners to network and engage in discussions with the HUD officials that joined the tour.  Tenants of the new housing units were in attendance and shared their personal stories.

Self Help Credit Union – Deborah-Momsen Hudson presented information on the newly created “Pilot Loan Product.” NSP partners provided key insight.

Jobs Reporting – Levar Martin, NALCAB, delivered a presentation on the NSP2 Consortium’s progress on job creation.

U.S. Assistant HUD Secretary Marquez Comments –HUD Assistant Secretary, Mercedes Marquez delivered inspirational remarks and congratulated the Consortium’s achievements and recognized the great work of the entire CPLC/NALCAB  NSP2 Consortium.
