The Summit will focus on the following key themes.
- Affordable housing, support for entrepreneurship and family wealth building services – while distinct practices - must be integrated to effectively build wealth in our nation’s asset-poor communities;
- Neighborhood stabilization and regional transportation infrastructure must be planned in tandem to ensure economically and environmentally sustainable development;
- While young firms account for the large majority of net job creation in the US, and Latinos demonstrate high rates of entrepreneurship, Latino entrepreneurs are finding it harder than ever to access capital and technical assistance. Access to broadband services can be a crucial element in delivering both.
- There is an urgent need to develop asset-building infrastructure and initiatives on the US-Mexico Border and in emerging Latino communities such as in the Pacific Northwest and the Deep South.
